About the role
Team: Delivery/ Infrastructure
As a Graduate Engineer, you will help produce technical work by using your developing skills and knowledge. You will work with periodic supervision, within a personalised graduate programme which will support you as you grow your expertise. This includes structured mentoring on the path to ICE chartership. Your work will contribute to delivering high-quality and sustainable solutions that support the mission of the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team including designers, engineers, technicians and other technical specialists. Together, you will help deliver projects and programmes that support the Trust’s strategic priorities.
What You’ll Be Doing
Work within agreed guidelines to manage your own tasks across different projects.
Use your growing technical skills to help produce project outputs, such as drawings, specifications and reports.
Follow established processes and work under periodic supervision when needed.
Use analytical thinking and problem solving skills to help address project challenges.
This role is ideal for someone who’s eager to learn, excited by real‑world challenges, and keen to build a wide-ranging technical skillset. As part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team, you’ll get hands‑on experience across live projects, develop your engineering expertise through structured mentoring, and play a part in shaping healthier, more sustainable places for people to walk, wheel and cycle. About you
We’re looking for someone who has experience and understanding in the areas listed below. You don’t need to meet every requirement — if you feel you’d be a good fit, we encourage you to apply.
You have either: a degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant field such as Civil Engineering or another clearly related specialism, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
You have an awareness of best practice in healthy street design.
You have an awareness of health and safety legislation.
The ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and adults at risk.
